Solana Pulls Ahead in dApp Revenue—Again
Solana isn’t just holding its ground against Ethereum—it’s widening the gap. Fresh data shows the blockchain brought in over $146 million in dApp revenue in June alone, continuing a streak that’s lasted more than a year. For context, that’s nearly half of Solana’s total chain revenue. Ethereum and BNB, its closest rivals, haven’t kept up.
The numbers aren’t even close. Solana-based decentralized exchanges (DEXs) handled $5.78 billion in volume last month, compared to Ethereum’s $4.7 billion. And it’s not a fluke. Since late 2024, Solana has consistently processed more transactions at lower fees, making it a go-to for traders and developers.
Why Ethereum Is Playing Catch-Up
Ethereum still has the bigger name, sure. But Solana’s speed and lower costs are pulling users away—especially in areas like tokenized stocks, where it now controls 95% of trading volume. Fees tell the story: if Visa and Mastercard switched to Solana, their transaction costs would drop by 99%, according to one estimate shared by the chain’s team.
That doesn’t mean Ethereum’s irrelevant. It’s just… slower. And more expensive. For now, Solana’s leaner model seems to fit what developers and traders actually want.
Where Solana’s Price Could Go Next
SOL’s been hovering around $140, but analysts think a breakout might be coming. If it clears $150, the next target is $170. After that? Maybe $200, though that’s a psychological barrier that’s held firm for over a year.
Of course, nothing’s guaranteed. A dip below $140 could signal trouble, but indicators like RSI and MACD suggest the momentum’s still bullish. Ryan Lee from Bitget Research thinks SOL could hit $400–$500 in a best-case scenario—or settle around $300 if the market turns shaky.
What’s Next for the Ecosystem
Solana’s not just resting on its DeFi wins. Bitcoin trading volume on the chain hit a new high last quarter, and its recent hackathon drew over 10,000 participants. The team’s pushing hard to prove it’s more than just “the fast alternative” to Ethereum.
Will it last? Maybe. But for now, Solana’s the one setting the pace.
